Description	:	Mona Marie (King) Spohn was one of seven children born to George Wesley and Rosa May (Skinner) King, in Orleans, Nebraska on July 2, 1907, and passed away on December 19, 1989, at the Rochester Health Care Center in Rochester, Minnesota, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 17 days. The family moved to Superior when she was a small child. She was educated in the Superior Schools and graduated from Superior High School in 1923. Read More	Mona Marie (King) Spohn was one of seven children born to George Wesley and Rosa May (Skinner) King, in Orleans, Nebraska on July 2, 1907, and passed away on December 19, 1989, at the Rochester Health Care Center in Rochester, Minnesota, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 17 days. The family moved to Superior when she was a small child. She was educated in the Superior Schools and graduated from Superior High School in 1923. She received her 2nd grade county certificate and taught school for one year after graduation. On March 9, 1926, in Clay Center, KS, she was united in marriage to Hubert H. Spohn. They lived in Chadron and Omaha for a short time. Most of her life was spent in Chester, NE, where she was employed as a telephone operator for a short time and then with the post office, retiring from there in July of 1977. She attended the United Methodist Church in Chester. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert; two brothers, John Brice Bernard King, and Marcus Hessie King; four sisters, Flossie Jane Trotter, Stella Rosella Hutchinson, Ella Emaline King and Edith Adeline Keith. She is survived by her children: one son, Marion W. "Dick" Spohn and his wife, Betty, Rochester, MN; two daughters, Ramona Zaghi and her husband, John, Sturbridge, Mass., and Donna Lee Bachenberg, Greeley, CO; and James D. Kleveland, whom she loved as a son of Nebraska City, NE; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Her home and her family were her life. She did a lot of sewing and handwork, loved to read and was always helping other people. Services were held Friday, December 22, 1989 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Chester, NE, with Rev. Randall Dilts officiating. Music was provided by organist Pauline Frye. Casket bearers were Steve Kleveland, James Kleveland, Marion Spohn, Warner Dale, Tom Bachenberg and John Zaghi. Burial was in the Chester Public Cemetery near Chester, Ne.
