Monica Clare Hanson was born June 18, 1943, at Clutier, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Agnes (Nachazel) Hlas. She received her education in the area of her birth and graduated from Clutier High School in 1961. On September 20, 1969, she was married to Richard M. Hanson of Davenport. The couple resided in Davenport until moving to Warren, Mich., in 1976. She was a member of St. Edmund Catholic Church in Warren. Preceding her in death was her father, Ben Hlas. Surviving are her husband, Richard; two daughters, Gina M. Hanson and Sara L. Hanson, both of Warren, Mich.; her mother, Mrs. Ben (Agnes) Hlas of Tama; two brothers, Norman Hlas of Marion and Harry Hlas of Clutier; and a sister, Mrs. Gary (Phyllis) Podhajsky of Longmont, Colo. A memorial fund is being established.
