Dying in the prime of life when she was so essential to her husband and three little children, the heart strings of all our people have throbbed with sorrow and pity. The large number of friends and relatives who attended the funeral services at the Presbyterian Church on Wednesday afternoon testified to the love and esteem in which Mrs. Rogers was held. The following beautiful tribute to the life and worth of Mrs. Rogers, which was written by one who had known her all her life was read at the funeral: Mora Harsha Rogers was born May 15th, 1887 and died December 21st, 1924, having lived but 37 years, 7 months and 6 days. She was the daughter of Charles Marion Harsha and Elizabeth H. Harsha. She was married on June 24th, 1908 to Stanley Rogers, and to him and their children, Martha, aged 10, Marian, aged 8 and Thomas aged 4, this is the deepest of all sorrow. Her mother survives her. She would have been glad to have taken Mora's place, but death accepts no substitutes, having already taken out of this famiy two sisters in 1905 and the father in 1913, leaving this mother and one sister, Mrs. R. F. McMullen, of Ashland, Ohio and one brother, Mr. Paul Harsha of Hillsboro. We wonder why death comes so often to some homes and leaves others so long unbroken, but we cannot solve such problems. This, however, we can say of her that while her life work seems to be unfinished her life was so lived as to be complete. She could not have added to her life another virtue of christian grace, had she lived to be three score and ten. A loving, devoted child in the parental home, a faithful member of the church since the age of ten, a splendid musician while yet a young girl, a devoted wife, crowning it all with the motherhood of these three beautiful children, is not such a life complete? Hers was a useful life. She had developed the capacity to do the things that the home, the church and the community needed and she was willing to do them. Some would do but cannot; others could do, but will not, but she both could and would. Hers was a cheerful life. One who taught her in the Sabbath School said she was "a ray of sunshine" in the class; another teacher said of her that she seemed just as anxious to contribute something to the interest of the class as she was to get something from it. At the end of such a complete useful and cheerful life, we may as well say, "O death, thou hast no sting, O grave, thou hast no victory."
