(Hunter) Lewellen, the former of whom was a native of Pennsylvania, who was accidentally killed in October, 1875.... The grandparents on the paternal side were John and Nancy (Stantz) Lewellen. He was a blacksmith and farmer of Adams county and reared a family of six children as follows: Lydia, Catherine, Alfred, Abbie, William and Morgan. "The late Morgan Lewellen began farming in early life in adams county, Ohio, and later branched out in the live-stock business. He was killed by the falling of a derrick pole at the building of the court house at West Union, Ohio, in the fall of 1875. During his life time he was actively identified with the Democratic party. His wife was a member of the Baptist church. Morgan and Mary Lewellen had eight children, of whom Henry L., the subject of this sketch, was the sixth. The others were: Anna, who never married; Frances, who married S.C.
