Description	:	Morris Demaree Jr., 75, passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2007, with his family at his side. His 50 year battle with diabetes is now over. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Morris was born in Minot, N.D., Feb. 21, 1932, to Morris and Ida Demaree Sr. At age 15 he enlisted in the Air Force. His 50 year battle with diabetes is now over. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Morris was born in Minot, N.D., Feb. 21, 1932, to Morris and Ida Demaree Sr. At age 15 he enlisted in the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1950. Sept. 30, 1950, he married Yvonne Grace Hoover and together they had six children. He had a passion for the trucking business. He owned several transport businesses. He believed a "handshake was all that was needed to seal a deal." If he could help a friend or family member in any way, he did so without blinking an eye. In 1989, he sold his trucking business and went to work at Nelson Trucking as an owner operator. Very shortly after, his wife joined him "on the road." Nearly 10 years later, in 1999, they retired. His interests included bowling, playing cards with family, playing a good game of poker now and then and reading his favorite authors' books almost as fast as they were printed, a good cigar and a cold beer. He enjoyed his camping and fishing trips with the family, although he never felt his hook needed to be baited. Morris is survived by his wife, Yvonne, of 57 years; sons, M. Monty (Kathy) of Billings, Larry (Debbie) of Gardiner, Gary (Peggy) of Douglas, Wyo., and Scott (Stephanie) of Gardiner; daughters, Tana (Ron) DeRossett, Toni (Lane) Kovach both of Billings; brothers, Gary (Toots) of Helena, Norris (Dorothy) of Billings; sister, Wilma (Bill) Wilkins of Billings; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Morris Sr. and Ida; younger brother, James "Jimmy;" and many uncles, aunts and cousins. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 1721 Central Ave., Billings. A "Celebration of Life" reception will follow at the family home at 2915 Belvedere Dr. All are invited to join. Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association, or charity of your choice.
