Description	:	Morris Porter Tyler was born June 12, 1874 at Denison, Ia. and passed away at a Sioux City, Ia. hospital Dec. 5, at the age of 85. He came to this community at the age of 12 with his parents, the late J.M. and Lizzie Jane Tyler. He received his early education here and farmed for a number of years. He came to this community at the age of 12 with his parents, the late J.M. and Lizzie Jane Tyler. He received his early education here and farmed for a number of years. He was united in marriage to Eva M. Rogers on July 4, 1895 at Burlington, Colo. To this union six sons were born. The Tylers lived on a farm near Creighton until 1945 when they moved into Creighton. Mrs. Tyler passed away in January 1953. For the past two years Mr. Tyler has made his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tyler at Norfolk. Two sons, Harold and Lloyd preceded him in death. Surviving are four sons, Frank of Norfolk, Harry, Merle and Abbott of Creighton; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Delia Howe of Plevna, Mont. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 8 at the Creighton Methodist Church with the Rev. David Gustafson officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ivan Copeland, Howard Kimble, Neal Kimble, Henry Vogt, Fred Carlson and Fred Hasenpflug. Extracted from: The Creighton News 24 Dec 1959
