Poling Dies; Long-Time Merchant Morris William Poling, 77, of 422 North Weller street, died at his home at 6:30 a.m. today. He had been associated with his brother, J.F. Poling, as owners of the Poling Electric Co. here since 1906, the business have been sold in 1943. He was the son of Nicholas and Catharine Poling and was born here December 24, 1868, and had lived in Ottumwa practically his entire life. He was a member of the Willard Street Methodist church, the I.O.O.F. lodge, Pickwick branch No. 120, the B.P.O.E. No. 734, and the Forresters lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mary Catherine Poling; one daughter, Mrs. Edward C. Cunningham, Chicago; two brothers, Harry L. Poling and J.F. Poling, both of Ottumwa, and one sister, Mary Alva Poling, Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel. Burial will be made in Shaul cemetery. The family has requested that no flowers be sent.
