The Winterbauers were married 9 February 1802 in Maßbach, Bad Kissingen, Bavaria. Christina was born 16 July 1811 in Brunnhoff (?), Bavaria, and died 6 February 1894 in Clay Center, KS. The Winterbauers were married 9 February 1802 in Maßbach, Bad Kissingen, Bavaria. Christina was born 16 July 1811 in Brunnhoff (?), Bavaria, and died 6 February 1894 in Clay Center, KS. Christina married Johannes Dittmar (1810-1853) who was born and died in Massbach, Bavaria. He was a distant relative of the Erhardt Dittmars (one of whose descendants, John "George" Dittmar, would ultimately marry Christina's youngest daughter Christina), but the exact relationship is not known. Christina (the elder)'s eldest child was Barbara Dittmar, b. ca. 1842 in Bavaria. She married Louis Eye (b. ca. 1838 in Hannover, Germany) in Schapville, IL in 1863. They moved to Clay Center, KS about 1879 with Barbara's brother Adam and their mother Christina (the elder). In 1880 they were farming in Mulberry, Clay Co., KS. They had eight children, the first six born in Schapville, IL and the last two born in Mulberry, KS. Christina (the elder)'s second child was John "Adam" Dittmar, b. 1847 in Bavaria. He married Mary B. Turner (b. August 1851 in Guilford Twp., Jo Daviess Co., IL) in Schapville, IL in 1876. Adam and Mary Dittmar moved to Kansas in 1879 because Mary's brother, Jonah Turner, had first gone to Kansas in 1871. Between 1879 and 1884, Adam and Mary had three children: John C. in 1879, Reuben Henry in 1882 and Pearl M. in 1884, all in Kansas. Because Adam and Mary had moved to Kansas to join her brother Jonah, in company with his older sister Barbara and his mother Christina, that paved the way for Adam and Barbara's youngest daughter, Christina Dittmar, who herself had married a Dittmar (her husband John "George" Dittmar, as explained above), to also move to Clay Center with their family in 1884. Adam and Mary's son Reuben Dittmar became a saddler and was in business with his father in Kansas in 1900. By 1910 he had moved to Ventura County, CA where he also was a saddler, and later moved his business to Santa Ana, CA. His family remains in southern California today.
