Description	:	Mrs. Geneva Carrie Lewis Nave, 96, of Cumberland, MD. died Wednesday, October 18th at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Nave, born in Cumberland, MD; was the daughter of the late Jacob McClellan Lewis and Roberta "Bertha Michaels Lewis, and the widow of Charles Arthur "Art" Nave, a local firefighter for the City of Cumberland. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elroy and Carlson Lewis. She graduated from Allegany High School, Class of 1939, she took swimming and high dive lessons at Fort Hill Swimming Pool and attended night classes in bookkeeping and shorthand at Catherman's Business School. Mrs. Nave, born in Cumberland, MD; was the daughter of the late Jacob McClellan Lewis and Roberta "Bertha Michaels Lewis, and the widow of Charles Arthur "Art" Nave, a local firefighter for the City of Cumberland. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elroy and Carlson Lewis. She graduated from Allegany High School, Class of 1939, she took swimming and high dive lessons at Fort Hill Swimming Pool and attended night classes in bookkeeping and shorthand at Catherman's Business School. Continuing with her education, she graduated from Allegany College of Maryland in 1998, Magna Cum Laude. She was employed part-time at Kline's Clothing Store and McCrory's 5 & 10 Store. She also worked for two years at A&P Groceries, the Celanese Fibers Corporation of America for 14 years, the Baptist Church for four years and retired in 1986, after 14 years with the City of Cumberland. She volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital for 11 years; served as secretary to the Board of directors at CCSCU for 10 years; was past president of the Ladies Shrine Club; and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastrn Star. She was also a member of the Civic Club; the Ladies of the Nile; the Sheiks and Shelias; the Red Hats; and an auxiliary member of the American Legion Morris Frock Post #42, Hagerstown, MD; where she enjoyed time with her son and family who was Commander in 1999. She loved traveling and spending time with her family, relatives, and friends. She was able to fly in an open cockpit with her brother, Elroy who served as pilot in World War II. She is survived by her son, Dennis A. Nave and wife Sandra; grandson, Brian A. Nave and wife Staci; great grandsons, Braydon, Christian, and Zackery Nave; and Tyler Holbrook; her sisters, Audrey, Patricia and her brother, Gary Lewis.
