Read More	Genevieve Chapman Fourie 10/21/1927 – 6/6/2015 and Robert William Fourie 11/26/1922 – 6/7/2015 Genevieve Chapman Fourie was born October 21, 1927 in Hot Springs, SD, the oldest child of George Everet Chapman and Verna Dunlap. She died in Dallas, Texas on June 6, 2015 at the age of 87. Robert William Fourie was born November 26, 1922 in Santa Rosa, Ca, the second child of Jacques Soubielle Fourie and Catherine Luddy. He died in Rockwall, Texas on June 7, 2015 at the age of 92. Genevieve's family moved to Vallejo, Ca in 1939 and she was a 1945 graduate of Benicia High. Bob graduated from Vallejo High School in 1940. In World War II Bob served in the Army Air Corps in the B29 Air Offensive against Japan. He was a Navigator on the B29 and was stationed in the Mariana Islands, on North Field Tinian in the 9th Bombardment Group. After the war, Bob attended, and graduated from, the College of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley in 1950. Bob and Gen were married in Vallejo the following day. Bob was an employee of Royal Dutch Shell Oil and Chemical Co for 34 years. He retired in 1984, and he and Gen spent most of their remaining years in the Placerville area, enjoying years of travel and visits from family and friends. Genevieve was a member of the WWII USO, the Chapman Society and other service organizations throughout her life. Bob, an avid genealogist, was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Society of Mayflower Descendents, the 20th Air Force Association, The Bigelow Association, and the Chapman Society. Bob and Gen died within several hours of one another, just shy of their 65th wedding anniversary. They are survived by their four children; Jeannine Fourie, Diane Fourie, Bob Fourie, all of Houston, Texas and Claudia Engle of Rockwall, Texas; Sons-in-law Steve Engle, Jay Byers and daughter-in-law Pam Fourie; sister Anne Fourie of Vallejo, Ca. Grandchildren Jonathan Fourie, Ethan Fourie, Justine Fourie, Zachary Fourie, Nick Fourie, Bobby Engle, Eric Engle, and Diana Engle Jones as well as several great-grandchildren, cousins, and nephew Michael Fourie of Vallejo. They are pre-deceased by Bob's brother Jack Fourie, and Gen's brother Gerald Chapman. They will both be buried at All Soul's Cemetery in Vallejo, Ca. Source: Rest Haven Funeral Home
