Description	:	NORRIDGEWOCK - Muriel H. Quimby, of Norridgewock, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home in Waterville, at the age of 92. She was born on Aug. 21, 1920, in Millinocket, the daughter of Philip and Marie (Ayotte) Obert. On Feb. 14, 1942, she was married to Charles Quimby Sr. in Norridgewock. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together and raising three sons before his passing in 1999. Quimby, of Norridgewock, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home in Waterville, at the age of 92. She was born on Aug. 21, 1920, in Millinocket, the daughter of Philip and Marie (Ayotte) Obert. On Feb. 14, 1942, she was married to Charles Quimby Sr. in Norridgewock. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together and raising three sons before his passing in 1999. Muriel spent her younger years working in the woods and continued to help out with keeping up the wood supply for the winter up until her late 80s. She spent most of her life working in Norrwock Shoe as a skiver. She was very skilled with her hands and was an excellent knitter and crocheter. She loved to pick raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and fiddleheads to can or sell for extra money. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden, as well. She would always have extra produce to sell or give away to others. Muriel was the oldest of 11 children, and is survived by one brother, David Obert, of Norridgewock. She is also survived by three sons, Charles Jr., and Gail Quimby, of Norridgewock, and their children Lauri, Jill and Melannie; Nelson Sr. and Theresa Quimby, of Norridgewock, and their children Nelson Jr. and Anna and Kenneth Sr. and Patricia Quimby, of Long Island, N.Y., and their children Kenneth Jr., Kimberly and John; a special niece, Linda Williams and nephew Richard Daigle and 14 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Sunset View Cem., Norridgewock. (Morning Sentinel 12/15/2012 & 5/9/2013)
