Description	:	Please Note: On October 18, 2017, I received an edit request, asking that I add Myra's middle name as Elmira instead of the initial E that was previously on this memorial. After doing research, I accepted this edit request on November 6. However, I am not certain that was actually Myra's middle name, and I believe it was probably originally her first name. Myra's obituary which I have transcribed below, just gave her name as Myra E. Honn, and her death record at the Wapello County Court House also just gave her name as Myra E. Honn. Myra is shown as Elmira in the 1870 Census, living in Wapello County, Iowa, with her parents. In the 1880 Census, Elmira was living with her widowed mother. After that census, she is only shown as Myra in the census records. Myra Dawson married Orien Honn, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Lee) Honn, on November 10, 1888, in Ottumwa, Iowa. According to information found in ancestry.com, Orien died November 25, 1926, in Rock Island, Illinois. -------------------------------- Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier," November 11, 1955: Mrs. Myra Honn Mrs. Myra E. Honn, 87, of 222 Randolph street, died at Alma’s nursing home at 337 North Hancock street, at 5:45 a.m. today. The daughter of Jacob and Rebecca Jane Dawson, she was born January 26, 1868, at Drakesville. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 24 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are one granddaughter, Mrs. Alice Trimble of Ottumwa, two grandsons, Robert Honn of Annawan, Ill., and William Honn of Rock Island, Ill., and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orien Honn, by two sons, Ray Honn and Harry Honn, in infancy, and by one daughter, Mrs. Verna Schelling. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel, in charge of Carl Nelson of the Church of Christ. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
