MULLINS - Myrel "Bootsie" Tucker Hennecy, 71, of Mullins passed away on December 15, 2014 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 3, 1943, she was the daughter of the late L. H. Tucker, Sr. and the late Estelle Myrel Williams Tucker and beloved wife of Richard for 50 years. MULLINS - Myrel "Bootsie" Tucker Hennecy, 71, of Mullins passed away on December 15, 2014 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 3, 1943, she was the daughter of the late L. H. Tucker, Sr. and the late Estelle Myrel Williams Tucker and beloved wife of Richard for 50 years. Bootsie was survived by two children, Rick (Coby) of Spartanburg and Wendi Lane (Bryan) of Charleston; one brother, Leon Holt Tucker, Jr. (Ann) of Irmo; aunt, Margaret Richardson Collins of Mullins; step-mother, Clara Martin Tucker of Mullins; two step-siblings, Martin Thomas of Florence and Lynn Rogers (Harold) of Tega Cay; and 6 grandchildren. Bootsie was predeceased by granddaughter Mary Tucker Hennecy and step-brother Wayne Thomas (Carol) of Columbia. The one activity that brought her the most joy was being with her family, she especially loved cooking for them. Before she got sick, she and her very special friend, Judy Ragan, could be seen most mornings walking and enjoying time together. Bootsie treasured the friendships she shared with Judy, Betty Lou Edwards, Bobbi Wall and her many other friends. Bootsie worked for many years at Davis National Bank and Anderson Brothers Bank until her retirement in 1998, but her most cherished role was that of wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church in Mullins. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, at Cedardale Cemetery, with the Rev. Kem Thomas officiating. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
