Description	:	Myrna Marie (Omstead) Morris passed away peacefully in the early hours of January 4th, 2022, at Lamoni Specialty Care Center in Lamoni, Iowa, while in the loving care of family, Care Initiatives staff, and Every Step Hospice. Myrna was born to John and Margaret Omstead on Jan 3, 1935, in Lamoni, Iowa and joined her siblings Kenneth, Keith, Marlene and was joined later by her youngest brother, Kevin. Myrna was born to John and Margaret Omstead on Jan 3, 1935, in Lamoni, Iowa and joined her siblings Kenneth, Keith, Marlene and was joined later by her youngest brother, Kevin. She attended Lamoni Community Schools and was active in band and cheerleading, graduating in 1953. She married her lifelong husband, Russell Thomas Morris, on March 9, 1953, and spent that summer working at a dude ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. After Russ's return from Korea, they moved to Los Angeles where their first daughter, Michelle, was born. They returned to Iowa after a short time in California and began the rest of their family with Sherry, Mike, and Patrick. Myrna was an amazing homemaker, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her delicious meals, baked goods, and candies. She began working at Graceland College in 1970, and advanced to her position as Director of Publications before retiring in 2000. Myrna was always a talented artist and attended many classes and winter term trips while at Graceland. She was an accomplished watercolor artist, and proud member of the Iowa Watercolor Artist Guild, displaying her artwork at shows, the Iowa State Fair, and marketing them locally. Her position at Graceland also allowed her to pursue her talents as an accomplished photographer. Her time after retirement was spent painting, gardening, and entertaining her two grandchildren Ryan, and Natasha while camping at the Iowa State Fair. She also enjoyed being involved with helping plan the Lamoni All School Reunion. She is survived in death by her children, Michelle of Lamoni, Iowa, Sherry of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Mike of Des Moines, Iowa, and Patrick and wife, Becki of Truro, Iowa; grandchildren, Ryan of Florida, Natasha of Des Moines, and step granddaughter, Andrea of Michigan; great granddaughter, Nova from Natasha; step great grandchildren, Sydney and Wyatt from Andrea; and many more nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; parents, John and Margaret; as well as her brothers, Kenneth, Keith, and Kevin; and sister, Marlene.
