Read More	Source: The Victor Record 4/12/1956 Funeral Rites Held For Former Resident Myrta Phelps, daughter of David and Louise Phelps was born in Wyoming, Iowa, Oct. 11, 1872. She attended the school in Wyoming and graduated in 1892. On August 10, 1892 she was united in marriage to Hills Maxson, and to this union four children were born. After their marriage, the home was made in and around Springdale, Iowa for the first few years of their married life. Later they lived in Victor and then moved to Des Moines, where Mr. Maxson died Mar. 31, 1948. Mrs. Maxson became a member of the Order of Eastern Star over 50 years ago, and at the time of her death was a member of Chapter 89 in Des Moines. She was also a member of the Congregational church for many years, attending whenever possible. Her health had been failing for a number of years, and since the death of her husband she made her home with her daughter Ruth in West Liberty. She passed away Thursday morning, April 5, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 24 days. She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Angerer of West Liberty, Mrs. Alice Jordan of Alameda, Calif., one son, Arthur of Des Moines, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; five sisters and one brother; besides other relatives and friends. Her parents, one daughter, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. The daughter, Ursula, died on Dec. 6, 1943. Funeral services were held from the McAninch chapel in Victor, Sunday, April 8, at 2 p.m. with the Rev W. J. Fowler in charge. Mrs. George Keller presided at the organ, playing one hymn, "In the Garden." Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Raymond Rohrer. Casket bearers were Henry Wahl, John Shultz, Raymond Rohrer, Christy Feller, C. D. McAninch and E. I. Lawton. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
