Death resulted from cancer. She had been in failing health about four years, A sister-in-law, Mrs. Leon Ellis, suffering from an identical ailment, passed away just twenty-nine hours previously at her home in Mitchell, S. Dak. Peterson, St. Paul, Neb., Mrs. W. E. Wray, Portland, Oregon and Mrs. C. M. Bowser, Hemingford, Neb. Snow blocked roads made it impossible for many relatives to attend the service which was held from the Presbyterian church. Crews of men worked from daylight until time for the service shoveling out streets to the church and the road to the cemetery.
