Stephens, died Sunday afternoon at a Grand Island hospital. The baby had been in ill health for some time. Pneumonia was the immediate cause of her death. The Grand Island fire department's resuscitator was used in a vain attempt to save her life. She was born May 14th, 1940. She made a noble effort to live, but Providence overruled. The parents did all within their power to sustain the life of their dear one. Aid was sought at the hospital at Columbus, at the St. Francis hospital at Grand Island and at the Johnson Sanitarium at Grand Island, but to no avail. Myrtle Arlene was baptized at the Columbus hospital. Those who mourn her are her parents; three brothers: Robert, Wendell and Richard; five sisters: Edna May, Lillian, Marie, Lucille, and Shirley; and many relatives and friends.
