Description	:	Miss Myrtle Barrier, age 53, of Monrovia, California, former resident of Eureka and sister of the late E.L. Barrier, died at hospital in Monrovia Wednesday morning September 29. Mis Barrier was supervisor of the public library at Monrovia and had lived there for many years. Funeral service will be held in Monrovia, Friday, October 1. Myrtle Barrier, youngest daughter os the late Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Barrier, was born May 9, 1890 in South Salem twonship, northwest of Eureka, and died in a Los Angeles, California Hospital, September 29, 1943. Miss Barrier attended school in District 10 in this county and at the Southeran Academy in Eureka, from which she was graduated in 1909. She also graduated from Washburn College in Topeka in 1903. After completing her college she taught school in Kansas for five years, then went to California, where she taught school at Modesto, then taught in Monrovia and later became high school librarian there, which post she has held for the past fifteen years. Miss Barrier was a sister of the late E.L. Barrier. Her nearest living relative is a niece, Mrs Alice Perrier of Eureka. Many distant relatives and friends in this community knew and loved her. All are deeply grieved at her passing. Funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Robert D. Brodt, was held from the Baird Funeral Home in Eureka, Sunday, October 10.
