Burial was in the Laurens Cemetery. Myrtle C Leap was born May 21, 1868 and at the time of her death had reached the age of 70 years, 2 months and 9 days. She was born in IL but at a very early age, she came with her parents, brothers, and sisters to Warren County IA, where the family resided for many years. It was here she met and married Lafayette P Alexander. All their children with the exception of the youngest, Mary, were born in Warren County. Several years ago the Alexander family moved to the Laurens community and with the exception of brief intervals, this has been their home since. Mrs Alexander was of a retiring disposition but readily kept the friends she made. On account of her health, she had not been about much the past few months. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her, three sons and five daughters. They are Leslie V of Storm Lake IA; Suel J of Terry MT; Armand P of Des Moines IA; Mrs Evelyn Hakes and Mrs Mildred Wessman of Laurens; Lucille Henderson and Myrtle Wilson of Des Moines; and Mary Smith of Santa Barbara CA. The pallbearers were her son and son-in-law, Connie Wessman, Paul Hakes, Armand Alexander, Lesllie Alexander, Suel Alexander, and Leonard Wilson. Burial was made in the Laurens Cemetery. ---The Terry Tribune 8-11-1938
