She was born January 23, 1912, in Davis County to Dick and Mary Porter Clendenen. She married Eugene U Christy on October 2, 1945, in Oskaloosa. He died January 18, 1977. A lifetime resident of Davis County she was a homemaker. She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church and World Barracks Auxiliary No. 2500. She is survived by a step son, Gail Christy of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; a brother William Clendenen of Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; two stepsons, Donald and Marley Christy; and two grandchildren. The service will be 2pm Sunday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, the Rev. Quentin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. The visitation will be open until 8pm today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mike, Todd, and Cole Christy, Joe Crabb, Howard Wassner, and Bill Becker.
