Description	:	Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," August 25, 1947: Mrs. Myrtle Whipple, 64, of 110 North Hancock street, died at 2 p.m. Saturday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sawyer, 121 Mistletoe street. The daughter of J.H. (Dutch) and Prissila Sammons, she was born in Henry county July 29, 1883. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, two brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. J.C. Guest of the Church of God. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery, and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
