She passed away at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center on Monday, October 12, 1922, at the age of 96 years and 12 days. (NOTE: Age doesn't figure out correctly). Myrtle was a school teacher in the Lincoln Public School System for 10 years, starting in the fall of 1920. On August 11, 1931, she was united in marriage to Paul E. Schmeling. They lived their entire life in Superior. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Superior and a member of the Superior P.E.O. for 50 years. Her life was one of unselfish devotion to her family. She cheerfully assumed the care of her mother, sister and husband, Paul. Myrtle was a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents, seven sisters and her husband. Survivors include one son, Richard, and his wife, Jean, of Lincoln and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 15, 1992, at 2 p.m. at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.
