Description	:	Myrtle Ida Read, 91, a Centerville resident, died Friday, Feb. 15, 1991, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Centerville. She was born in Wayne County on Aug. 26, 1899, the daughter of John and Mattie (Chamberlain) Stark. She was united in marriage to Emil B. Read in Des Moines on May 28, 1921. He preceded her in death on Feb. 19,1981. Myrtle was a homemaker and a housewife. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Centerville, Eastern Star, Eastern Star Past Matrons, TTT, legion Auxiliary, and past president of the National Auxiliary Postal Supervisors. She was born in Wayne County on Aug. 26, 1899, the daughter of John and Mattie (Chamberlain) Stark. She was united in marriage to Emil B. Read in Des Moines on May 28, 1921. He preceded her in death on Feb. 19,1981. Myrtle was a homemaker and a housewife. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Centerville, Eastern Star, Eastern Star Past Matrons, TTT, legion Auxiliary, and past president of the National Auxiliary Postal Supervisors. She is survived by three daughters; Marlys (Mrs. Larry) Cook of Des Moines, Patricia (Mrs. John) Brunsburg of Webb Lake Wisc., Emily (Mrs. David) Stuart; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents six sisters, one brother and one granddaughter. Memorial services were held Monday morning at 11 a.m. at the Lange Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. A memorial has been established to the Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home. Interment was in the Allerton Cemetery.
