Description	:	Myrtle Laura Fitchner, daughter of William and Elizabeth Wilka, was born April 16, 1927, at Pukwana, Brule Co., South Dakota. She resided there until 1935 when she moved with her family to Larchwood, Iowa, where they lived until 1942 when the family moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was a graduate of the South Dakota Beauty Academy in Sioux Falls and worked there until going to Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1952. Read More	Myrtle Laura Fitchner, daughter of William and Elizabeth Wilka, was born April 16, 1927, at Pukwana, Brule Co., South Dakota. She resided there until 1935 when she moved with her family to Larchwood, Iowa, where they lived until 1942 when the family moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was a graduate of the South Dakota Beauty Academy in Sioux Falls and worked there until going to Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1952. She married William Clark Fitchner February 6, 1954, at Colorado Springs. They resided there for about a year and a half before moving to Anthon, Iowa, where they lived until 1957 when they moved to Sioux Falls. The couple moved to Sloan, Iowa, in August 1959, where she spent the remainder of her life. Mrs. Fitchner died Monday, February 29, 1960, at a Sioux City hospital after a three week illness. Funeral services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon with Rev. O.H. Praeuner officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of the Walter Funeral Home, Anthon, Iowa. Pallbearers included Walter Sterrett, Jr., Kenneth Hill, Robert Middlen, Louis Kappler, Marvin Seel and Floyd Maass. Survivors include the widower, four daughters, Patsy, Paula, Pamela and Penny and a son, William Worth, all at home, her mother Mrs. Elizabeth Wilka of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, two brothers, Lloyd and Harold Wilka, both of Sioux Falls, and two sisters, Mrs. Verna Nelson and Mrs. Maurice Manifold, both of Sioux Falls.
