He was the youngest son of the late David and Ellen (Veinot) Silver, and was born at Hemford 62 years ago. He was an employee of the C.N.R. Building and Maintenance gang and would have been superintendent in June, 1952 and his career with this company was unbroken. He was a member of the brotherhood of Railwaymen and Primrose Lodge, No. 151, I.O.O.F. He is survived by his wife, formerly Margaret Stockman; one daughter, Ellen and one son, David; also by six sisters, Ella, Mrs. Ford Wiles; Hattie, Mrs. Uriah Varner; Beatrice, Mrs. Aubrey Hurlburt; Dora, Mrs. Elmer Lincoln; and Miss Jessie, Cambridge, Mass.; Miss Winnie, Hemford; and three brothers, Herbert and Walter, of Hemford; Edmund, Deep Brook. Two sisters and two brothers predeceased him. The very largely attended funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. G.W. Sach of the United Church of Canada who spoke comforting words from Psalm 123 . Hymns sung were "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "Abide With Me," and Unto the Hills." Memebers of Primrose Lodge attended in a body and acted as pall bearers to their late brother and held their committal service at the graveside. Interment was in the community cemetery.
