Description	:	Nancy, 76, of Homer died on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family following a short illness. Nancy was born to Howard and Elsie (Humphery) Smith. She graduated Salutatorian of Homer High School Class of 1960, and she graduated from Western Michigan University Business School in 1962. Nancy worked many years at Folk Oil Company in Homer, and she retired in the early 2000’s. Following her retirement, Nancy served as the Treasurer for Homer Township for eight years retiring in 2017. Read More	Nancy, 76, of Homer died on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family following a short illness. Nancy was born to Howard and Elsie (Humphery) Smith. She graduated Salutatorian of Homer High School Class of 1960, and she graduated from Western Michigan University Business School in 1962. Nancy worked many years at Folk Oil Company in Homer, and she retired in the early 2000’s. Following her retirement, Nancy served as the Treasurer for Homer Township for eight years retiring in 2017. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing computer games, and traveling to the casinos. Nancy enjoyed her flower gardens and going for car rides on her "Homer Tour" throughout the town. She loved spending time with her family and her friends. She is survived by her children, Amanda Frye and Adam Frye both of Homer; her brothers, Art (Karen) Smith of Homer and David (Barb) Smith of Tekonsha; and her former husband, Martin Frye of Homer. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Spencer Frye in 2011; and former husband Carleen Yaudes in 2014. Funeral services celebrating her life was on Saturday October 13, 2018 at the Homer Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Jacob Washburn officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery. Family will gather with friends at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services Homer Chapel Reception Hall. Family requested memorial contributions be made to the Homer Public Library or to donor’s choice. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
