Description	:	Nancy Agnes (Huston) (Rodebaugh) McCall was born in Pittsfield, Penn., June 2, 1829 and died on May 8th, 1917, being 87 years, 11 months and 6 days of age. She was 13 years of age when her parents moved from Pittsfield to Missouri. The trip was made by rail, boat and ox team. Many were the hardships encountered on the journey. Read More	Nancy Agnes (Huston) (Rodebaugh) McCall was born in Pittsfield, Penn., June 2, 1829 and died on May 8th, 1917, being 87 years, 11 months and 6 days of age. She was 13 years of age when her parents moved from Pittsfield to Missouri. The trip was made by rail, boat and ox team. Many were the hardships encountered on the journey. When she was 19 years of age, she married to J. Rodebaugh. To this union was born one child, now Kate Milliorn of Des Moines, Iowa. On account of ill health Mr. Rodebaugh started for St. Louis, Mo., for medical treatment and was never heard of again. In 1854, she married again to R. H. McCall. To this union eight children were born. Five survived her George, James, V. E. McCall, Mrs. Delano (Alice) Chedester, Bobby-Ann Crum all of this vicinity. When the Civil War broke out she had four children to care for. She did so by teaching school, which was by no means easy. She had to get her teacher's certificate from the trustees and then hunt up her own scholars. Her husband was away four years, and during which time she suffered all kinds of hardships. After her husband returned they resided in Missouri until 1883. Then they moved to Iowa by covered wagon, landing in Castana and settling on a farm, then wild prairie, seven miles west of Ute. They lived two years in a dug out. While there her daughter Mrs. Dick (Mollie) Wray died, leaving an infant child, which she raised to womanhood, now Mrs. Ed (Eva) Prudent of Dallas S. D. The husband of the deceased and his brother went to war together, but the brother never returned and his widow died shortly afterward leaving four children for Mrs. McCall to care for. Besides being a school teacher, the deceased worked in her brother's drugstore in her girl hood days. Her brother was a physician which called him away most of the time. The deceased and her husband joined the primitive Baptist Church in 1880. Which she was a member of until death. The husband died eight years and four days ago to the hour of Mrs. McCall's death, both dying at 8:10 o'clock in the morning. The funeral services were held at the house by Elder Jones of Loveland, Iowa on Friday morning at 10 A.M., and the remains buried beside those of her husband in St. Clair Cemetery. The departed was a loving wife and mother. She was loved by all who knew her. She had 24 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. From The Independent, Ute, Iowa, Friday, May 18, 1917
