Buttler of Chelan, passed away yesterday, rather suddenly, at the ripe age of 89 years 6 months and 24 days. Funeral services for Mrs. Knowles were held this afternoon from the Christian church with the Rev. J. A. Longston officiating. Mrs. Knowles is well known here, having resided here for the past 33 years. She was born in South Carolina, Jun 28, 1848 and her maiden name was Griffian. Mrs. Knowles had been quite poorly for some time and her passing was not unexpected to the immediate members of the family. Mrs. Buttler has reseded in Chelan with her son, L. D. Buttler since October. Though Mrs. Buttler was nearly 90 years old, she appeared to be hale and hearty and able to do her own housework up until the day of her death. The last rites for Mrs. Buttler will be held at the cemetery tomorrow afternoon at 2 pm, the Rev. H. J. Wood officiating. Funeral arrangements in both cases are being cared for by the Higgins Undertaking parlors of Chelan.
