Description	:	(KS) Narka News Oct. 2, 1914 Mrs. Nancy E. Leffingwell, one of the early settlers of this county, died at the home of her step-daughter, Mrs. W. L. Andrews, of Salina, Kansas, Wednesday, September 24, 1914. She went to Salina about six weeks ago to spend the winter. She was taken suddenly ill on Friday, Sept. 18th, and gradually declined until the end came. She was over 76 years. old. Mrs. Leffingwell resided in the vicinity of Narka for a great many years, and after a long, busy and useful life she died as she had lived--honored, trusted and loved. Her husband, Lemuel... Andrews, of Salina, Kansas, Wednesday, September 24, 1914. She went to Salina about six weeks ago to spend the winter. She was taken suddenly ill on Friday, Sept. 18th, and gradually declined until the end came. She was over 76 years. old. Mrs. Leffingwell resided in the vicinity of Narka for a great many years, and after a long, busy and useful life she died as she had lived--honored, trusted and loved. Her husband, Lemuel Leffingwell, preceded her in death a number of years ago. Besides a large circle of friends she leaves eight children, three step-children, thirty-two grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. The surviving children are: Mrs. Montgomery, of Montrose, Kansas; L. O. Leffingwell, Weskan, Kansas; S. C. Leffingwell of Sharon Springs, Kansas; E. O. Leffingwell of Auburn, Nebr.; Mrs. Loren Hoover of Narka, Kans.; Mrs. W. L. Andrews of Salina, Kans.; Mrs. R. W. Andrews of Weskan, Kans.; and John Leffingwell of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. The funeral services were held at the Ida church Saturday, Sept. 26th, conducted by Rev. J. S. Johnson, of the Narka M. E. church, and interment made in the Ida cemetery.
