Description	:	Mrs. Ella Chamberlain died Tuesday at Sutton, the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Lehman, with whom she had been making her home for some time. Deceased was the widow of John Chamberlain who died a number of years ago. He was a well known farmer of Nuckolls county (sic), residing northeast of Nelson, and at one time her served as county commissioner. Read More	Mrs. Ella Chamberlain died Tuesday at Sutton, the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Lehman, with whom she had been making her home for some time. Deceased was the widow of John Chamberlain who died a number of years ago. He was a well known farmer of Nuckolls county (sic), residing northeast of Nelson, and at one time her served as county commissioner. Mrs. Chamberlain was born August 29, 1863, and was numbered with the long-time-residents of this county and one of her highly respected citizens. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, July 25, 1935 ============== Nancy Ellen Stickler, daughter of Andrew and Esther Stickler, was born at Unionville, Iowa, August 29, 1863. She passed away July 23, 1935, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 24 days. During the last several years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Clyde W. Lehman, at whose residence in Sutton she received her final call from the Master. For the last three years her failing health prevented her from enjoying former pleasures of service and companionships of a large circle of friends and life-long acquaintances. However, up to the last she maintained her extensive interests in life and the welfare of friends and the people around her. December 19, 1880, she was married to John C. Chamberlain of Coatsville, Iowa. To this union were born seven children Ray, Guy, Clarence, Charley, John, Katie and Jessie. Her husband and two children, John and Jessie, preceded her in death. Besides the other children, two brothers: John of Omaha, Nebr., and Charles of Villisca, Ia.; and two sisters, Mrs. John Trullinger of Shenandoah, Ia., and Mrs. S.P. Crook of Guthrie, Okla.; survive. Also thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of friends remain to mourn a true loss to their lives. Shortly following her marriage she and her husband moved to Richardson county (sic), Nebraska, and from here they moved to Nuckolls county (sic) in 1888, and established a permanent home on a farm northeast of Nelson. The son, Charles, resides on the home farm. Mrs. Chamberlain was born in a family of Dunkard faith and in early years became affiliated with the Christian church (sic), maintaining this connection all through life. Only those who knew her and God alone could appreciate her patience and Christian character for she lived a life of service to all she knew. Her greatest pleasure was in doing for others. And she knew no sacrifice in this, for hers was a willing offering. Top each at her bedside, one prayer and only one was fitting, Peace in her passing to the reward that she so richly earned by her untarnished example of Faith, Unselfish Service and Kindliness, which will long remain as a power and in spiration (sic) to the dear ones who survive. The funeral service was held Thursday afternoon, July 25, at 2:30 from the Christian church (sic) in Nelson, her church home for many years. Rev. C.R. Brooks of Ulysses, former pastor at Nelson, officiated, with Rev. Pruitt of the Federated church (sic) of Sutton, assisting. The pallbearers were grandsons and nephews of the decased (sic). Interment was made in the family lot in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
