Description	:	Charles A. Chamberlain was born January 16, 1888, in Richardson County, near Verdon, Nebraska, the son of John Calvin and Nancy Ellen Chamberlain. He was married to Mildred Jackson on January 19, 1910, at Falls City, Nebraska. To this union were born three children, J. Duane of Lincoln, Nebraska, Esther Kathleen Blackstone, San Jose, California, and Margaret Ann Whiteley of Hastings, Nebraska. Mr. Chamberlain was baptized in the Nelson Christian Church December 7, 1924, and remained an active member until his death. Chamberlain was born January 16, 1888, in Richardson County, near Verdon, Nebraska, the son of John Calvin and Nancy Ellen Chamberlain. He was married to Mildred Jackson on January 19, 1910, at Falls City, Nebraska. To this union were born three children, J. Duane of Lincoln, Nebraska, Esther Kathleen Blackstone, San Jose, California, and Margaret Ann Whiteley of Hastings, Nebraska. Mr. Chamberlain was baptized in the Nelson Christian Church December 7, 1924, and remained an active member until his death. He has resided practically all his life in Nuckolls County, farming in the area from 1910 to 1945, then working for the A.S.C. office and the Commodity Credit until his retirement in 1958. Mr. Chamberlain passed away April 13, 1966, at Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ray, Guy, and John, and a sister, Jessie, and a grandson, Roger Dee Blackstone. He is survived by his wife, his three children, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. There survive also a sister, Esther Lehman of Lincoln, and a brother, Clarence E. Chamberlain of Chadron. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 16, at the Nelson First Christian Church with Rev. Victor O. Schwarz officiating. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery. Pall bearers were Gordon Sheets, Jack Wehrman, Clifford Adamson, Ralph Aikin, Chris Hansen and Floyd Rouse. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, April 21, 1966
