She departed this life at her home in Delphos, Kansas, April 23, 1922, aged 64 years, three months and 11 days. She was married to Alvin J. Wisbey near Swan Lake, McLeod county, Minnesota, October 4, 1873. Mr. Wisbey died 18 years ago. To this union were born nine children, eight of whom survive the mother. They are, Mrs. Lillie Kent and Mrs. Josephine Bellows of Delphos; John F. Wisbey and Walter F. Wisbey of near Concordia; Dollie Bellows of Delphos; Emmerson Wisbey of Glasco; Frank Wisbey of Concordia; and Mrs. Orpha Zigler of Delphos. Mrs. Wisbey was converted at the age of 12 years. She united with the Free Methodist church 25 years ago and remained a member of that church until November of 1921, when she united with the Methodist church of Delphos. She was devoted to God and the principles of righteousness and truth to the last of life. She was a very kind and affectionate mother. The end came very peacefully. She leaves to mourn her departure eight children, eighteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, besides four brothers, one sister, and a host of other relatives and friends. (an 8 line poem followed) The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Delphos, Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Roberts, assisted by G.S. Smith. A quartet from the church sang three songs which had been chosen by Sister Wisbey: "Asleep in Jesus," "How Firm a Foundation," and "Alone With God." Interment was made in the Kendall cemetery south of Concordia. ---Delphos Republican
