It was Friday evening before it became known she had not arrived at her destination.A search was immediately commenced and continued until dark, without finding her.Early next morning a large company was gathered and the search continued until noon when she was found a long way from any house,in the thick wood.She was at once placed in a wagon, and brought to her relative's,but before the house was reached she died.Her clothing was torn and the appearance of the bushes near where she was found,showed in what misery she must have been.More than forty-eight hours elapsed from the time of her departure from home, until she was found, and during the two nights she passed in the woods, it rained heavily. Her funeral took place from the Unitarian Church in Brewster on Sunday afternoon.
