Nancy, the daughter of George and Matilda Iiams, was born January 3, 1851 near Marian, Indiana, and departed this life July 1, 1935 at her home near Thurman at the age of 84 years, 5 months, 28 days. Nancy, the daughter of George and Matilda Iiams, was born January 3, 1851 near Marian, Indiana, and departed this life July 1, 1935 at her home near Thurman at the age of 84 years, 5 months, 28 days. With her parents, brother and sister she came to Iowa in 1867, locating at Sidney. In 1875 she was united in marriage to T. A. Irwin. To this union six children were born: Mrs. W. M. Leeka, Thurman; George Irwin, Tabor; Mrs. F. E. Hults and Mrs. R. W. Morris of Decker, Montana; Leona and Harold, who died when very young. She also leaves eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. All her married life of 61 years was spent on the farm where she died. "Aunt Nan", as she was affectionately called by her friends, was a living example of that biblical definition of a perfect woman. "She looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the breath of idleness." She had an abiding faith in the Supreme Being, and her confidence in the honesty and goodwill of mankind was unshakable. Her family and her home were first in her thoughts and her ever ready service to her family will always be a precious memory to them. Her willingness to help her neighbors in any emergency, as long as her health permitted, will always be a memorial to her. THE SIDNEY ARGUS - HERALD. Thur., July 11, 1935
