HARRIS -------- Nancy Jane Fletcher was born in Jamesport, Daviess Co., Missouri, on February 26, 1861, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Rose Furrow, in Wauneta, Nebraska, May 7, 1936. On October 26, 1879 she was united in holy matrimony to Lewis Franklin Powell at Holton, Kansas. Five children were born to this union, two dying in infancy. After the death of Mr. Powell she was again united in mariage to Charley Harris on October 18, 1908. Early in her life she became a member of the Christian church, but in later years joined with the Church of Christ of which she was a member until her death. In her last sickness, though attended with great suffering, she manifested an increasing faith in God, and testified many times to her loved ones and friends of her readiness and willingness to go. She leaves to mourn her departure one son, Charles Powell of Elsie, Nebraska, one sister, Mrs. Roberta Matlock of Palisade, Nebraska, 12 grandchilden, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, interment being made in Elmer cemetery. A.W. Doane was the minister in charge. C.E.
