Description	:	Nancy J Marple was born near Dover in Bureau County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Franklin and Jane Ayers Marple. She spent her early days near her place of birth. At the age of nine she was bereft of the loving care of her mother and with her father was left to care for six brothers and sisters. She was married to Joseph Babb on June 16, 1853 in Bureau County, Illinois. To this union were born five sons and three daughters. Two of whom, Willis Leroy and Frederick E, died in early childhood. In 1856 with her husband and... Read More	Nancy J Marple was born near Dover in Bureau County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Franklin and Jane Ayers Marple. She spent her early days near her place of birth. At the age of nine she was bereft of the loving care of her mother and with her father was left to care for six brothers and sisters. She was married to Joseph Babb on June 16, 1853 in Bureau County, Illinois. To this union were born five sons and three daughters. Two of whom, Willis Leroy and Frederick E, died in early childhood. In 1856 with her husband and family they moved to Dakota County, Minnesota. Remaining there until 1865 when they returned to Henry County, Illinois. In 1869 they came to Poweshiek County, Iowa and resided on a farm southeast of Montezuma until 1891. They moved to Montezuma where the family residence was kept until death claimed them. In 1874 Nancy was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church and was a consistent and earnest member throughout her life. The early life in the West, with its hardships and trials, made of her a woman of strong character and with it that patience and forbearance that portrays the life of a conscientious Christian. Some weeks ago she fell and sustained a broken hip. The injury was a serious one and at her age she was unable to past thru the long ordeal of healing. For days she seemed to hold fast to the threads of life but on last Thursday strength to battle failed and she passed into dreamless sleep. To mourn her departure are six children; Milford Franklin, Mary J Jacobs, George W, Harvey E, Della M Allison and Cynthia E Ludeman.
