She was born November 16, 1941 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Walter Richard and Lila Jane Foreman Means. She was a 1959 graduate and Salutatorian of Oskaloosa High School. She was born November 16, 1941 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Walter Richard and Lila Jane Foreman Means. She was a 1959 graduate and Salutatorian of Oskaloosa High School. Nancy was an accountant and tax preparer for many years, serving clients in all of Jefferson, Douglas, and Shawnee Counties. She formerly worked as a secretary in Swoyer’s Law Office in Oskaloosa. Nancy and her daughter, Ronda, operated a ceramics shop in rural Oskaloosa for several years. She was a member of the Oskaloosa United Presbyterian Church and a former member of Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. She is a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Silver Lake Chapter. Nancy and her husband, Ron, served as a 4-H leaders several years for the Jolly Juniors 4-H club of Oskaloosa and she served as a Ceramics Judge for both Jefferson County and Douglas 4-H clubs. She married Ronald Charles “Ron” Reed on June 7, 1959 in Oskaloosa, he preceded her in death on March 8, 2012. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Ronda Schuler, one son, Kevin Woodrow Reed, one brother, Richard B. Means, and a sister, Julianne Pottorf. She is survived by one son, Charles (Anna) Reed, Lawrence, four grandsons, Daniel (Sarah) Schuler, Oskaloosa, Aaron Kevin Reed, Ronald “Chase” Reed and Isaac Albert Reed, all of Lawrence. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, June 24 at the Oskaloosa United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday at Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.
