She removed with her parents from Ohio to Jasper county, Mo., in 1856 and in 1872 to Humboldt, where she resided until her marriage with Geo. E. Hutchinson on March 17, 1878. She removed with her parents from Ohio to Jasper county, Mo., in 1856 and in 1872 to Humboldt, where she resided until her marriage with Geo. E. Hutchinson on March 17, 1878. They spent a few happy months together on his farm near Yates Center, when he was stricken with consumption and died May 30, 1879. One little daughter, Georgie May, blessed this union and to her the sorrowing mother turned her thoughts and care, for she was a delicate child and through her untiring love and perserverance brought her up to young womanhood. Jennie Hutchinson was a woman of many interests and kindly deeds, with ever the interest of those dependent upon her, first in her mind. Many came to her for advice and counsel which was always thoughtfully given. She had resided with her father since her husband's death and for his sake cheerfully made many sacrifices and he mourns her loss most deeply. It was while trying to help a neighbor in need that she came to her death. She and her daughter had gone over to Mr. Tom Barr's to milk a fresh cow, when the beast turned on her and knocked her down, horning and trampling her. Mrs. Barr and Georgie were in the lot and ran to her assistance immediately. Doctors were sent for and it was found her right arm was broken, her face badly bruised and she had received internal injuries for which nothing could be done and she lived but twenty four hours. She lived a true Christian life and was a believer in Jesus Christ though she had never made a public profession. Her last words to her daughter were, "Georgie be brave, be brave, pray for me." The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Drake, at her father's home, Sept. 21st, 1895.
