The daughter of Maurice Scott Kerr, Sr. and Gladys Nancy Nichols Kerr, she was born on June 3, 1935 at Morning Sun. She married Harold McElhinney on June 20, 1953 in Morning Sun. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2004. Nancy graduated from Morning Sun High School in 1952. She worked as a bookkeeper for Delzell Motors and then as the secretary for the Morning Sun School. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Morning Sun where she was involved with the Clothes Closet. She was also a member of the Lioness Club, had been a Cub Scout Leader, involved with the Methodist Youth Fellowship, and had served on the school board. She enjoyed camping with Harold. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; and ten siblings.
