Read More	Funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Congregational church in this city for Mrs. P. W. Arnold, well known pioneer mother and highly respected citizen of this community who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Torgerson, last Friday morning. Last fall Mr. and Mrs. Arnold, who were too old and in too poor health to live here alone, went to Colfax to spend the winter, with Mr. and Mrs. Torgerson. Both have not been in good health of late, but Mrs. Arnold was up and around. That morning she was sitting beside Mr. Arnold's bed reading to him when she suddenly collapsed. A cry from Mr. Arnold brought the family to her aid, but she was unconscious and died in a few minutes. Rev. Frank G. Beardsley, for a long time a very close friend of the Arnold family, conducted the services and he paid a glowing tribute to a fine Christian woman who not only was a wonderful wife and mother, but had so endeared herself to her neighbors by a lifetime of good deeds that the whole community sorrows with the family. The choir sang three of her favorite hymns: “The Old Rugged Cross,” “In The Garden” and “Let The Lower Lights Be Burning.” The pallbearers were her grandsons. Aden B. Arnold, John Hanson, Harding Sanstead, Floyd Schwede, Gordon Danielson and Cecil Shrank. Interment, in charge of the Thomas Funeral Home was made in the family lot in Wildrose cemetery in this city. Nancy Lamenta Swan was born at Middleton, Ohio, January 22, 1855, and was united it marriage to Peter Willard Arnold at Wooster, Ohio, on October 24, 1878. In 1882 they moved to Craig, Neb., then very much a new country. In 1904 they came to North Dakota and filed on a homestead near Tagus. Later they bought a fine half-section farm a half mile west of Berthold, and about 27 years ago moved to town to live. Mrs. Arnold one of the first members of the Congregatlonal church in this city, and was an active worker in the church and Aid Society. A women with a heart of gold, she was "Grandma Arnold" to nearly everyone in town. She and Mr. Arnold had been married over 62 years, and at the time of her death was 85 years, 11 months and 5 days old. She is survived by her husband and six children, Mrs. Mary Keiffer of Lyons. Neb., Harry S. Arnold of Sweethome, Ore., Mrs. Pearl Torgerson of Colfax, Wis., Mrs. Grace Sanstead of Fargo, Miss Nellie Arnold of Grand Forks, Mrs. Daisy Engh of Fargo, and 27 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Mr. Arnold had a very bad day the day before his wife passed away, and Mr. and Mrs. Torgerson were compelled to remain in Colfax with him. Relatives who attended the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sanstead and Harding and Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Engh and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Shrank, all of Fargo, Mrs. Nell Arnold of Grand Forks, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Danielson, of Minot. Old friends who came were Mrs. W. E. Krick of Minot, and Mr. J. W.
