Born on January 24, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Rufus McKeney and Edna Blizzard Lewis. Sadler of Stevensville, MD passed surrounded by family on June 28, 2017 at Compass Regional Hospice in Centerville, MD. She was 77. Born on January 24, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Rufus McKeney and Edna Blizzard Lewis. She was raised in Love Point, MD and graduated from Stevensville High School, class of 1957. On June 14, 1957 she married Joseph W. Sadler and they resided in Stevensville. Nancy was a homemaker for many years until working at Western Auto in Stevensville and then later at Bay Boat Shop. She was an EMT from 1977 to 1986 with the Kent Island Ambulance Crew and Assistant Secretary for Ladies Auxiliary with the KIVFD. She also volunteered with the KIUMC and the Kent Island Historical Society and Kent Island Days. Nancy was a Sunday school teacher and was a PTA volunteer when her children were in school. She was also a member of the Grasonville VFW ladies auxiliary. Nancy is survived by her two sons Joseph Warren Sadler, Jr and his wife, Karen of Centreville, MD and Robert D. Sadler and his wife, Debbie of Centreville, MD; three grandchildren Joseph W. Sadler, III and his wife, Mandy of Centreville, MD, Kristin Cobb and her husband Matt of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jason Sadler and his wife Sandy of Centreville, MD; eight great grandchildren; and two brothers Larry Lewis and his wife, Nancy of Sykesville, MD and Bob Lewis and his wife, Liz of PA. A funeral service will be held on Monday July 3, 2017 at 11:00am at the Kent Island United Methodist Church in Chester, MD. Burial will follow in Stevensville Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Sunday July 2, 2017 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, MD from 4PM to 6PM. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Kent Island United Methodist Church, PO Box 308, Chester, MD 21619 or the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department, 1610 Main Street, Chester, MD 21619.
