Cramer, George Hascall, I. N. Chaney, H. F. Cheney, and C. E. Anderson. Those in charge of flowers were Gladys Davis, Dorothy Huntsman, Lucille Hascall, and Caroline Hascall. Mrs. Ward Fickel of Henderson sang and was accompanied by Mrs. Eleanor Winter. George Stille had charge of transportation. Charles and Ryan Lakin served as ushers. Burial was made in the Emerson Cemetery. Nannie Bevis, the second daughter of Robert and Amanda Bevis, was born Nov. 26, 1862 near Ellisvllle, Illinois. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1871, traveling from Davenport in a covered wagon to the Wesley Chapel neighborhood where they made their home. She joined the Wesley Chapel Methodist church when about 11 years of age with her sister Lola. After finishing the grade school she attended Tabor college and after completing this course she was employed and taught her first term of school In the Sandiland school district northwest of Emerson. She was united in marriage to William K. Post January 20, 1885, moving to their farm northwest of Emerson. To this union one son, Charlie K., was born. She united with the Emerson Baptist Church in 1891 being the oldest living member at the time of her death. They later moved to Emerson and lived here until they moved to Colorado, taking up a homestead which they proved up on and made their home until 1913. He husband preceded her in death in 1913 and her son Charlie in 1915. After her son's death, she came to Emerson to live. Most of her 10 years in Colorado was spent in teaching school. She and Mr. Post were the organizers of the first Sunday School in Hoyt, Colorado. She has always been active in church work, serving as church slerk 26 years without missing an annual meeting; president of the ladies' aid society 18 years, taught in the Sunday School the greater part of her lifetime for more than 14 years.
