Description	:	Following is the obituary read at the services for Mrs. Martie Sowers held at the Henderson Methodist Church Wednesday, November 12. Martin Bevis, youngest daughter of Robert and Amanda Bevis was born at Ellisville, Illinois April 8 1866 and entered into rest November 9, 1941. In 1870, she came with her parents and sisters to Mills County, where she has resided ever since. They came by way of a covered wagon and later the muslin covering the wagon was dyed and made into school dresses for the older girls. Read More	Following is the obituary read at the services for Mrs. Martie Sowers held at the Henderson Methodist Church Wednesday, November 12. Martin Bevis, youngest daughter of Robert and Amanda Bevis was born at Ellisville, Illinois April 8 1866 and entered into rest November 9, 1941. In 1870, she came with her parents and sisters to Mills County, where she has resided ever since. They came by way of a covered wagon and later the muslin covering the wagon was dyed and made into school dresses for the older girls. She attended the Teachers Normal College at Tabor and taught school before her marriage to William Ellsworth Sowers, January 25, 1887. To this union were born three children, Bevis and Walter of Henderson and Hazel Rainbow, who is spending the winter in California. She united with the Wesley Chapel Church while a young girl and kept her membership there throughout her life. Mr. and Mrs. Sowers moved from their farm to Henderson in 1920. Mr. Sowers preceded her in death September 11, 1934. Besides her three children, Mrs. Sowers leaves to mourn her passing, five grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Post of Emerson and Mrs. Lola Danley of Henderson and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Sowers was a faithful worker in the Henderson Methodist Aid ever since moving the Henderson and will be greatly missed from her usual place every Thursday. Mrs. Sowers was a loving mother, a kind friend, and a good neighbor. Rev. K. E. Nesbitt of Coln, a former pastor of the Henderson church had charge of the services. Pall bearers were Arthur Phelps, Ellsworth Plumb, Sherman Stonebraker, Earl Allensworth, John Clark, and Claude Wilson. Those who had charge of the flowers were Mrs. Clinton Parker, Mrs. S. g. Stonebraker, and Mrs. Earl Allensworth. Music was furnished by Jack Fickel, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Paul. Interment was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
