Nanda was born in the ninth hour of Sept. 9, 1909, to Henry and Laura (Larson) Strom on the family farm in Trail County, N.D. Read More	Nanda Sorum MISSOULA - Longtime Missoula homemaker, Nanda Sorum, 95, passed away Jan. 24, 2005, at the Country Home Estate assisted living center. Nanda was born in the ninth hour of Sept. 9, 1909, to Henry and Laura (Larson) Strom on the family farm in Trail County, N.D. She grew up and attended school in this pioneer community near Hillsboro, N.D. On May 9, 1933, she married Lynn Sorum in Halstad, Minn. They spent their early married years in eastern North Dakota and later in Sidney, raising two sons and five daughters. In 1957, they moved to Billings where Lynn was employed by the Forest Service and transferred to Missoula in 1962. Nanda devoted her life to her home and family. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and Yahtzee. She loved small children and is remembered by family, friends and neighbors for her homemade donuts. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Sharron Dreese of Florence; son Loren of Ballantine; grandson Baby Jackson; great-grandson Baby Scott Boe; her parents; brothers Lloyd and Joseph Strom; and little sister, Selma. She is survived by daughters Arnelda (Richard) Boe of Missoula, LaVonne Jackson of Ballantine, Maxine (Merlyn) Miller of Port Angeles, Wash.; son Michael (Laurie) of Missoula; daughter Randi (Cliff) Pickens of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and several great-children. Also surviving are brother John Strom of Westminster, Calif.; sisters Ione Lean of Stewart, Minn., Marlene Oie of Hillsboro, N.D., and Janice Madrid of Santa Fe, N.M.; and sister-in-law Marian Strom of Ada, Minn.At her request, there will be no formal, service.
