She had been in ill health for four months. She was born in Crawfordsville on Oct. 23, 1929, to Clarence and Alta Harmon Bir. She married William Homan in South Bend in 1947. He is deceased. She was a 1947 graduate of Reynolds High School. She lived in Monticello most of her life and was a retired computer operator. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. She was a member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge Auxiliary, both of Monticello. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Moravits of San Antonio, Texas, and Peggy Wagner of Lafayette; two sons, Lawrence Homan of San Antonio, Texas, and Kevin (Elaine) Homan of Monticello; her mother, Alta Bir of Monticello; two sisters, Dorothy Houston and Ruth Buschman, both of Monticello; a sister-in-law, Alice Bir of Alexandria; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A brother, Kenneth Bir, is deceased. Visitation will be from 9:30-10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Services will be at the church at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. James Goodrum officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Reynolds. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
