Remsberg, life-long prominent citizen of Middletown, died Saturday, June 1, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born at Middletown, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus H. and Emma Jane Michael Doub. She was an active member of many civic and religious organizations. A charter member of the Order of Eastern Star, Loyalty Chapter 50 she was the Second Worthy matron and had served in many other capacities in that organization. Remsberg, life-long prominent citizen of Middletown, died Saturday, June 1, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born at Middletown, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus H. and Emma Jane Michael Doub. She was an active member of many civic and religious organizations. A charter member of the Order of Eastern Star, Loyalty Chapter 50 she was the Second Worthy matron and had served in many other capacities in that organization. She was a member of the Middletown Homemaker's Assoc., the WCTU, Garden Club, and recently a member of the DAR. She traveled extensively with the Frederick Travel Club. A staunch Republican she was a member of the local Republican Central Committee. She was a lifelong member of the Christ Reformed Church, Middletown. She taught the Phileathea Bible Class of the Sunday school for 35 years, following her mother, Mrs. Emma Doub, who had taught the same class for the previous 35 years. She was well versed in the history of her church and denomination as well as history of Middletown Valley. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frances Doub, North Baltimore, on sister-in-law, Mrs. Roscoe Doub, three nieces, three nephews, and a number of grand nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Gladhill Funeral Home, Middletown, Monday, June 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held from Reformed Church Tuesday, June 4 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Jorris Backmann will officiate. Interment will be made in the Reformed Cemetery. There will be no viewing at the church.
