Description	:	ELIDA — Naomi C. Buetner, 97, died peacefully at 5:16 p.m. Dec. 11, 2012, at home surrounded by her children. She was born April 1, 1915, in Allentown, the daughter of the late Levi Laman and the late Grace Kennedy Laman. She married Homer "Bud" Buetner on Dec, 22, 1939. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1982. Although Naomi was a homemaker for most of her life, she had also worked at Banta Candy Store and Westinghouse Electric Corp. prior to having their children. Buetner, 97, died peacefully at 5:16 p.m. Dec. 11, 2012, at home surrounded by her children. She was born April 1, 1915, in Allentown, the daughter of the late Levi Laman and the late Grace Kennedy Laman. She married Homer "Bud" Buetner on Dec, 22, 1939. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1982. Although Naomi was a homemaker for most of her life, she had also worked at Banta Candy Store and Westinghouse Electric Corp. prior to having their children. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, golfing, bowling, gardening and antiques. Naomi leaves a legacy of love. She was a selfless lady who invested herself in her family and friends. Her home was a hub of endless gatherings where everyone was welcome. She was a quiet doer, dropping off a pie or a meal when someone was sick, taking flowers to those who needed encouragement, and so it goes on. After her husband's death, she cared for her stepfather-in-law, Fred Geier, for seven years in her home. He lived to be 105. When interviewed by The Lima News, at age of 79, she was asked what her greatest treasure was. Naomi replied, "That's easy, my family and friends." Surviving are a son, Brad (Joyce) Buetner, of Elida; two daughters, Karen (Butch) Oglesbee, of Lima, and Kathy J. (Dave) Davis, of Elida; seven grandchildren, Chad Oglesbee, Angie (Scott) Evans, Jaden Oglesbee, Bradley (Brittney) Buetner, Josh (Joy) Buetner, Brooke (John) Zerbe and Beth (Scott) Graham; 17 great-grandchildren, Katie, Levi, Brandon, Kayla, Brey, Baylor, Daulton, Dylan, Alivia, Brayden, Brodey, Claire, Zack, Blake, Colton, Brinklee and Lacey; three great-great-grandchildren, Isabella, Savannah and Cayden; a sister, Jeanette (Clyde) Rader, of Seminole, Fla.; a sister-in-law, June Laman; and loving caregiver, Juanita Joseph, of Van Wert. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clark Laman, Norman Laman and William Laman; three sisters, Evelyn Pennell, Esther Shellenbarger and Nora Kowalsky. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. John Zerbe will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida. Lima News December 12, 2012
