Spitler Dies at Father's Home Saturday Night – Rites to Be Held From Luckenbill Funeral Home Tuesday. An illness of a year's duration due to carcinoma caused the death of Naomi I. Spitler, 38, lifelong resident of the county and one of its best known women, Saturday night at 10 o'clock. Death occurred at the home of her father, Ira Spitler, near this city. She was a hospital patient several times but medical science could not subdue the dread disease. Possessed of a disposition that was kind and courageous she bore her affliction with unusual fortitude. Since the death of her mother in 1921, Miss Spitler had been in charge of her father's home, and for several years had also been employed in the license bureau office in this city. She was known as a most efficient, faithful and courteous employee. She was born November 6, 1901, to Ira and Mary Ann Humbarger Spitler in Whitley county. Her aged father and a half-sister, Mrs. Marion Egolf, of this city, are her closest survivors. A half-brother, Charles Baum, died in 1925. Funeral rights will be held from the Luckenbill Funeral Home, where friends will be received, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Paul Chalfant, of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Friends may view the remains until the hour of the funeral. Burial will be made in Greenhill cemetery.
