OBITUARY -- FAIRVIEW Narcie Deborah Gibson, 69, of Fairview died Wednesday, April 4, 1990, at a Topeka hospital of complications from diabetes. She had been a patient there for several days. Mrs. Gibson had been a nurse's aid for several years at the Brown County Infirmary in Hiawatha when she retired. she later worked part time at Tri=county Manor in Horton. She had worked for many years in the Mid-Continent Egg Plant in Hiawatha and at Horton Garment Factory. She was born April 26, 1920 in Louisiana, the daughter of Orin Glenn and Edith Segrist Marquart. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Goff Chapter 439 of the Order of Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary to Hiawatha Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5210. She was married to James Olin Gibson on Oct. 23, 1941, in the Avoca community in Jackson county. They lived in the Leona, Baker, Powhattan and Willis communities before they moved to a farm north of Fairview about 10 years ago. He survives. A daughter, Lois Smith, died March 6, 1979. Other survivors include a daughter, Liz Rison, Sabetha. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Popkiss mortuary in Sabetha. Burial will be in Holton city cemetery. Mrs. Gibson will lie in state until service time at the mortuary. Contributions may be made to the Narcie Gibson Memorial fund to be designated by the family and left at the mortuary.
