Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fullerton with Reverend David Fulton and Reverend Allan Stetz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Fullerton. Visitation will be 5-6:30 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Nurses Honor Guard ceremony followed by a rosary service Wednesday, October 27th at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Natalie Rose was born October 19, 1914 at home to George and Bernice (Knopik) Uzendoski. She grew up south of the Loup River near Fullerton. She attended elementary school at District 56 and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1932. She then continued her education at St. Francis School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1937. After graduation, she did private duty nursing where she could and, later, moved to California where she worked in a hospital. On August 11, 1941, she was united in marriage to Edward L. Ksiazek at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fullerton. The couple lived in Washington D.C. and New York City, where she was employed at various hospitals. When Edward was called to duty in 1943, Natalie moved home to Fullerton with their daughter, Carolyn. Edward was discharged in 1945 and the family moved to a farm by Belgrade, where they resided until they moved to Fullerton in 1981. Natalie worked in the Fullerton and Genoa hospitals and in the local nursing home in a supervisory position. She trained nurses and helped people in the Belgrade area by doing in-home health care. Natalie and Edward loved to travel and spent a lot of time traveling the United States and abroad. After retirement, they spent their winters in Arizona until 2006, when Edward turned 90. Natalie was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society, Extension Club, many nursing organizations, American Legion Auxiliary, and Rural Letter Carriers' Auxiliary, where she held many state and local positions. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Dean) Schmid of Albion; sons, Harold (Jean) Ksiazek of Duncan, Thomas (Jeannie) Ksiazek of St. Charles, MO, and Richard (Linda) Ksiazek of Tucson, AZ; and 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents, George and Bernice Uzendoski; in-laws, Frank and Anna Ksiazek; brothers, Stanley Uzendoski and Mike (Rose) Uzendoski; sisters, Helen (Joseph) Micek, Marian (Frank) Stetz, and Sister Mary Alberta Uzendoski; and sisters-in-law, Francis (Walter) Prososki, Cecilia (Wilber "Mac"), and Verna (Isadore) Cuba.
